As a mom, I’ve honed the art of worrying about my kids. Twenty-three years of parenting and seven military moves have provided ample opportunity to raise my worry-skills to expert level. Change seems to be the constant of our lives. The uprooting of belonging was hard for me as an adult; what was it doing to my kids? As a mom, I often worried about the impact change and transition would have on my children.
Every now and then God gives us a front row seat to what Him work.This past weekend was one of those extraordinary moments. It is a sweet adventure to see plans and dreams become a reality during our second Strength2Thrive conference in Centreville, VA. God brought military women together for a day of community, worship, learning, and fellowship.
Yes, you! As a believer in Christ, God has given you a spiritual gift. When it comes to calling and gifts we are often far more concerned with what we think we can’t do, rather than with what God can do.
Some things don’t come easy. And some prayers aren’t answered quickly. She looks out the window as the rain comes down in sheets. Is God listening? she wonders as she struggles to believe God will answer. If she had a dollar for each prayer she has prayed for this difficult situation, she’d be a wealthy woman by now.
