About MeAuthor of Holy in the Moment: Simple Ways to Love God and Enjoy Your Life, Ginger Harrington is an award-winning blogger, speaker, and ministry leader of Planting Roots: Strength to Thrive in Military Life.

When I was growing up, on any given day, there were two things I wanted to do:

  1. To live the prairie life with Laura Ingalls.
  2. To be a mermaid.

Didn’t you?

Well, somehow, I grew out of these playful aspirations of childhood and found myself married to a Marine. I never planned on marrying a military man, but was an amazing adventure.

You’ll find a variety of posts including devotionsBiblical wisdom how-to’s on spiritual growthreal-girl mistakes, and sharing life as it is–all with the focus living better and loving more with fresh faith. Subscribe now so you don’t miss the fun!

My books:

Holy in the Moment: Simple Ways to Love God and Enjoy Your Life

Abingdon Press, March 2018

So much more than a religious version of perfectionism, holiness is a secret to enjoying life with freedom and joy. Dispelling the perception that holiness is a standard of conduct rather than a gift to receive, Holy in the Moment includes Ginger’s personal journey in finding help and hope for anxiety as well as biblical insights, and simple ideas to enjoy a deeper life and freedom in our identity in Christ. Offer your moments to God and trust Him to make you holy and whole, living well in the choices you make today.

Breaking the Chains: Strategies for Overcoming Spiritual Bondage

Chapter: Escape the Prison of Anxiety

Powerful enemies such as fear, anxiety, anger, and loneliness war against our souls, but Christ empowers us to break their chains. Freedom doesn’t have to be a distant dream. It can be our reality. Does your soul long to be free? Twenty authors have joined forces in this compilation to offer strategies for freedom by sharing personal stories, meaningful Bible verses, and chain-breaking principles.

Speaking MinistrySpeaking at Planting Roots conference

Speaking is one of my favorite things. Let me rephrase that… I LOVE speaking! Does that mean I’m a blabbermouth? With ten years speaking experience in more than 100 sessions, I motivate women with truth, encouragement, and laughter.

Long ago I gave up the dream of having it all together, and yet, I’ve learned that God can use every part of us – even the parts that do goofy things.  Humor can help us get to the heart of the issues that can be hard to talk about – our own shortcomings, challenges and frustrations. I’d love to talk to your group.

Military Ministry

Planting Roots: Strength to Thrive in Military Life

What if military wives, active duty and family members come together to worship God, encourage one another and grow deep roots of faith wherever God sends us? What if we build meaningful connections through online community and live events?

In 2014 a few military wives and veterans came together with a vision and a God-sized “What if?” I am excited to be a part of the dream team for a non-profit ministry for military gals. A co-founder of Planting Roots: Strength to Thrive in Military Life, I coordinate publishing, speak at regional conferences, and have assisted with social media. With a volunteer staff of 35, Planting Roots, offers a community FB page, online blog posts and Bible study, and live conferences–CA, KS, TX, TN, VA, GA, OH, Germany and counting.
