Ever need to take a deep breath, a long nap, and take a day or two to catch up with yourself? That would be me! You too? Great, let’s take a moment together to just let some of the wonderful craziness settle.
When I committed to do the Write 31 Days, I knew it was going to be a stretch, given all that I have going on this month. On the front end, I gave myself permission to be free from posting everyday (good thing!). I’m so glad that I took the challenge, and I’m going to keep on going with the Soul Strength series a little longer.
October has been a wonderful month of great opportunities.
I have never done a post like this, but then, I’ve never had a month like this!
Here’s a recap:
October 11-13 I had the privilege to speak at a retreat in VA Beach with a sweet group of ladies. It was a wonderful weekend of fun, fellowship, learning, beach combing, and worship!
October 20 brought the exciting kick off for a new ministry for military women and wives. I’m the social media coordinator for Planting Roots: Strength to Thrive in Military Life, and I hope you’ll check it out and pass this along to your friends. At Planting Roots we are encouraging women to plant their roots in faith and in turn, impact the globe for Christ. Through FB, our blog, and live and online events, we seek to thrive wherever God sends us.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of what God is doing. We reached 0ver 1000 likes in the first week and now we are launching the website. I hope you’ll come over and subscribe to the blog. Be sure and take advantage of the great giveaways we have on the blog!
October 20-24 Our family had the joy of hosting our friends Mark and Kerry Kellond. The Kellonds have been Cadence youth pastors while we were in Okinawa. What a treat to see them again and support them as they venture into a new ministry preventing sex trafficking in Cambodia. You can learn about the ministry Remember Nhu here.
October 24 I had the exciting privilege of posting at Guideposts. Timed to coincide with the launch of Planting Roots, writer and military family blogger Edie Melson shows support for Planting Roots. Join me for The Art of Belonging and the Military Family.
October 27-30 I attended the Flagship Military Missions Network Conference with the director of Planting Roots, Kori Yates. God opened the door for our new ministry with many connections with other ministries.
I got home just in time for a family birthday and some neighborhood Halloween fun–yay!
October 31 I’m posting at 5 Minutes for Faith, sharing some of our soul thoughts from the most popular posts from the Soul Strength series. You can read Dare to Believe You are God’s Masterpiece here.
In the midst of all of this, somehow my family still wanted to each dinner every night. Imagine that. And though I had hoped, the house will not clean itself! I tried to get the dogs to help with the laundry…
We also did a basement remodel this month, and I have a big pile of boxes to go through and organize–hmm…organizing…my favorite…
Yes, it’s been a wonderful, amazing, crazy-busy month. I am grateful every opportunity to learn, publish, speak, fellowship, and minister. Thanks for your support and friendship as I step out of my corner and into wider ministry! Together, let’s watch and see what God will do!
