5 Ways to Choose to Believe: Posting at Planting Roots Today

This Christmas…

1. Choose to believe God will work in the midst of your every-day moments.

Christian Fish Ornament text 2

Now it happened that…while he was performing his priestly service before God…

It was just a regular day.

Maybe the day started out like so many others. In the midst of doing his duties—while he was performing his service—an angel showed up.

Chosen by lot, what many in this day would consider a chance, Zacharias was chosen to light the incense. Faithful in the everyday, God placed him in a position to have a very special encounter. A personal message from God Most High, spoken through the astounding presence of an angel.

In the midst of serving God, even in the midst of worship, Zacharias receives a life-changing message, the first message of Christmas.

Did he enter the temple that day with a sense of excitement, a premonition that heaven was coming to meet earth before his very eyes?

 2. Choose to believe worship makes a difference.

And the whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering…

  1. This looks like a great ministry, Ginger! I’ll be praying for you as you participate in the Planting Roots mission. Thank you for linking up and letting others know!

  2. I’ve never thought of how worship was an essential part of this story. When we draw near to him, He really does draw near to us. Thanks Ginger – this really inspires me to stay close to the heart of God so that the plans of God might come to pass in my everyday moments.

    • I hadn’t either until reading and reflecting on the story and seeking God as to what to write about. Thanks for visiting today. Have a very happy Christmas.

  3. I don’t think I’d thought about the fact that Zachariah was in the temple by “chance” of the lottery. That was a cool thought to me, although not the point of your whole story. I love that we never know what will come to us through worshiping our Creator!

    • I love the way we come to scripture and God can show us nuances and applications that we didn’t see before. Have a blessed Christmas.
